Tomislav Nevistic

Performer

Tomislav Nevistic began his professional dance training in Laban technique at the School of Contemporary Dance Ana Maletic in Zagreb, Croatia. After receiving an Oscar for knowledge in dance, he moved to New York to study at The Ailey School and Martha Graham School, where he also obtained teacher certification in the Graham technique. Tomislav then joined Martha Graham’s second company, Graham 2, where he performed in Martha Graham’s works, Secular Games, Acts of Light, Diversion of Angels, Owl and the Pussycat, and many more.


He has also danced for Alison Cook Beatty Dance, iDance, and Ziel Dance Theater and had the opportunity to tour around the USA, the Bahamas, and Croatia.

Tomislav was one of the spring artists in residence for The Baryshnikov Arts Center, where he choreographed a new piece, “The Story”. He was chosen and commissioned by Mare Nostrum Elements to create and perform in a piece, “Body Disappears,” for ECS. Other commissions and performances include his work for Ziel Dance Theater: “And There It Was”, “Freedom≠Britney”, dance films “Me, Myself and Your Eyes”, and “No More Perchance to Dream”.
