The Chronicle Dance Theatre Trainee Program ​is designed for aspiring professional dancers seeking an immersive bridge between pre-professional training and a career in the performing arts. Through rigorous technical training, extensive rehearsal experience, performance opportunities, and individualized mentorship, trainees will develop the artistic excellence, discipline, and professional skills necessary to thrive in today's dance industry.

 

This unique program provides dancers with the opportunity to work alongside professional artists, perform in company productions, engage with renowned guest teachers and choreographers, and gain invaluable insight into the life of a working artist.

Program Highlights

Professional Development:

  • Individual coaching and mentorship

Artistic Growth:

  • 6-8+ hours of weekly technical training

  • 8-10+ hours of rehearsal per week

  • Training in ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, stretch/conditioning, & music

Performance Opportunities:

  • Perform (as cast) in Chronicle Dance Theatre repertory productions

  • Community engagement and outreach performances

  • Guest artist residencies and collaborative projects

  • Potential performance opportunities in New York City

Schedule

30 Week Training Program

September 21st, 2026 - May 14th, 2027

 

Mondays/Tuesdays

9:00am-10:00am - Music/Coaching/Stretch

10:00am-11:30am - Company Ballet Class

11:30am-2:00pm - Company Rehearsal​

Wednesdays

10:00am-11:30am - Company Ballet Class

11:30am-2:00pm - Company Rehearsal​

​

Thursdays*

10:00am-11:30am - Jazz/Contemp/Modern Class

11:30am-2:00pm - Trainee Rehearsal​

*Selected Thursdays/Fridays

Rehearsal in NYC as called

Tuition & Fees

​​Annual Tuition: $5000

​

What’s Included:

  • 25+ hours of training

  • All classes and rehearsals

  • Costuming and production expenses for three repertory concerts

  • Community and outreach performances

  • Individual coaching and mentoring

  • Professional development opportunities

  • Trainee Showcase performance

​Payment Schedule:​

  • $500 Deposit due August 1st, 2026

  • $500 Monthly Payments due:

        9/1/26, 10/1/26, 11/1/26, 12/1/26, 1/1/26,

        2/1/26, 3/1/26, 4/1/26, 5/1/26

10% off tuition when paid in full ($5000) by 9/1/26

Housing

Housing options are available for out-of-town dancers.

Summer Intensive Discount

Chronicle Dance Theatre Trainees are welcome to participate in CDT’s Summer Intensive August 24th-29th.

 

Trainees can attend for 50% off full price tuition

(only $325) and will perform in the CDT Summer Program Showcase and could be chosen to dance with the company in the CDT Gala on August 29th.
